articulator teamed up with the Kimpton Sawyer hotel for an artist talk set in the heart of the DOCO District in Sacramento on March 3, 2020. We are pleased to bring you this presentation about the creative process and how Gioia Fonda finds motivation for her work in castoffs, residue, and refuse.

Gioia Fonda is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in two-dimensional media (painting, drawing, sewing, and photography) with occasional forays into sculpture, performance, and new media. A resident member of Verge Center for the Arts, she is a dedicated member of the Sacramento art community, contributing as an artist, curator, jurist, and collaborator. She is a tenured professor and chair of the Art Department at Sacramento City College.
